Backend engineer with 12+ years in Java and Spring Boot, most of it in banking and wealth management. I've led a team of five, delivered large legacy-to-Java migrations (VB to Java web, EGL to Java), and recently modernised secrets management and security across 50+ services.

I mentor engineers, teach Clean Code and Clean Design, sit on technical interview panels, and build reusable AI-agent workflows that let a small team review and fix code at scale.

  1. 2025-11 → present

    Software Engineer, Level 4 @ Meltwater

    Backend engineering for a global media-intelligence platform.

    • Led a secrets-management modernisation across 50+ services, moving configuration to environment variables, Consul and the AWS credential chain, with fail-fast startup checks and log redaction. Credentials can now be rotated without code changes.
    • Drove dependency and vulnerability remediation across Java, Go and Python services, choosing the smallest safe upgrade for each and documenting the CI impact for build owners.
    • Built server-side password policy, bot protection and rate limiting for the platform's sign-in and sign-up flows, with graceful degradation and no impact on page speed.
    • Turned the remediation and code-review process into reusable AI-agent skills: wrote and tested prompts and review rules on pilot repositories, packaged them as skills that are refined with every run, and used them to scale AI-assisted reviews to 120+ pull requests across ~100 repositories.

  2. 2023-12 → 2025-11

    Senior Specialist, Software Engineering @ LTIMindtree

    Wealth-management application, banking and financial services.

    • Part of a major migration of legacy EGL code to a Java web application for an existing wealth-management platform.
    • Built APIs with Java 11, Spring Boot, REST and SQL; drove refactoring and code reviews.
    • Mentored team members technically while staying hands-on, coordinating with the delivery manager and onsite counterparts.
    • Member of the technical interview panel for both project and organisation-level hiring.

  3. 2021-12 → 2023-11

    Senior Software Engineer (promoted) @ EPAM Systems

    Wealth-management product suite, banking and financial services.

    • Built APIs for the client-onboarding experience and enhanced the advisory module's APIs.
    • Restructured the existing codebase, wrote unit tests against simulated APIs, and reviewed teammates' code.
    • Mentoring Committee member; taught internal courses on Clean Code and Clean Design and mentored new Java developers.
    • Technical interviewer and resource manager.

  4. 2017-04 → 2021-12

    Technical Consultant @ Perficient

    • B2B order-management system (retail, 2021): lead developer for a team of five, building APIs across an order-fulfilment platform that integrated with warehouse and inventory systems (Java 11, Spring Boot, MongoDB, AWS SNS/SQS, Docker, React).
    • Workforce-management platform (internal, 2020): REST services for leave, profile and goal-review modules (Spring, Angular).
    • Health insurance (leading US insurer, 2017–2019): gathered requirements directly with the client, estimated and designed features, built them across every layer, and owned release status reporting for a sub-project.

  5. 2014-02 → 2017-04

    Software Engineer (promoted) @ CGI

    Investment banking, six-member team.

    • Built most of a VB-to-Java web application migration, including the UI screens and Jasper reports (Java, JSF, PrimeFaces, MyBatis, Tomcat).
    • Analysed Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) requirements and designed solutions for them.
    • Owned design, development, testing and debugging, and kept SDLC documentation and quality standards.
